Mirror soulmate
This week, I found my mirror soulmate. That happens when you happen to be in a crowded lift with no space to move and nothing to do as the lift moves slowly up to your desired level. That happens when there are absolutely no mirrors in the lift (who would invent a lift like that, you ask) except for one on the lift ceiling. That happens when you tilt your head to the ceiling mirror, hoping that nobody's looking at you trying to sneak a peek at yourself. That happens when you breathe a sigh of relief as you stare at yourself amongst the top of many dark-haired heads. That happens when your eyes dart towards the left and suddenly you don't see a dark-haired head anymore, but another pair of eyes staring right at you in the ceiling mirror. And then the both of you burst out laughing because you realise how silly and vain you both must look. But, she becomes a mirror soulmate for life. One that truly understands the need for mirrors.
This week, I relived my childhood when we landed ourselves in "Pretty in Tokyo". Cringing at the two girls who went before us, who were striking poses that almost made me gag, I'm sure other people must have felt the same way as they watched the three of us trying to figure out the machine that only spouts Japanese. Neoprints were once an every day part of my life - I remember Sharon and I taking a neoprint every day just to commemorate a new day in secondary school. Nonetheless, it was all girlish giggles (and some embarrassed laughter) as we posed for the many different shots with the time limit that appears out of nowhere after the background magically changes. It was really fun, and I'm sure a certain Kelly Green had the time of his life trying to hide his face amongst the young girls at "Pretty in Tokyo".
Not everyone would be so accomodating to the childish requests of two girls. :)
