the laughingstock.

I'm going to be the laughingstock of the entire SMU. You know how teachers love to use failed examples to "teach" their students about what never to say and things like that, well I'm going to be their next target. Today's interview for the Bachelor of Social Science course went terribly, in fact, when you think about it, it actually is hilarious. For the two American interviewers, that is. I expected it to be some cliche interview, like "Why did you choose to read this course in university?", or "How can you be a contribution to the university?", but noooo it turned out to be an assessment on my political views. I ended up having to voice my opinions on issues in the newspapers, mainly about elitist societies, and what do I know about that? Nothing. For one, I do not even read the newspapers, so whatever gabble came out of my mouth came purely from...nowhere. And I even tried to be honest! I said I read the newspapers "sometimes", which is entirely true. I read "Life!" (which is the comics section, celebrity gossip and the television listings for the day), and sometimes when there are interesting headlines, or breaking news in the newspapers, I pore over them as well! Well, honesty gets you nowhere. They still grilled me. And I ended up contradicting myself over communist and democratic societies, and it wasn't a subtle mistake. It was bloody obvious, and they knew it and I knew it and I bet they wanted to laugh outright at me. I'm so embarrassed, well yes, I know they tried to be nice about it, especially the American lady, who had a perpetual smile on her face, but inside, they must be thinking what a ditz I really am. I'm never going to make it into university, help!

On a happier note, I love Carrie Underwood from American Idol. She's gorgeous and she sings better than Kelly and Fantasia combined! Wednesday nights are my stay-home nights, with American Idol and The Amazing Race. I'm becoming such a reality-tv freak! :)
